Every Student, Everyday: Ensuring Accessibility through Quality Online Course Design

Date: December 2, 2021
Time: 6:30–7:30pm
Facilitator(s): Lynn Sessler Neitzel, Wisconsin Virtual School (WVS) World Language Teacher

“How might we approach teaching and learning differently if accessibility was held to be synonymous with quality?” (Modified from Quality Matters, January 2021). Preparing for student learning involves ensuring quality in online course design for all teaching modalities and all learners. In 2022, we also need to focus on a clear vision from that quality initiative that includes increased attention to accessibility in all aspects of that online learning space. This kick-off session will touch on the principles and practices involved with quality course design initiatives that uphold standards for accessibility for all learners. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and consider participating in the upcoming Micro-Course, “Designing for Online Accessibility”, set to kick off Thursday, January 13th (day that course access begins).

Connection to National Standards for Quality Online Teaching: A2, B2, F4, F5
